MTU's public affairs spokesman has confirmed that SCG (Siam Cement Group) will be a major sponsor of the club next year. It's not yet confirmed what form the sponsorship will take (shirt, ground, etc.) but the investment will be significant. Yamaha will also continue to sponsor and support the club.

SCG is a member of the Crown Property Group and is one of the most profitable companies in Thailand, ranking as the 620th biggest business in the world (Forbes 2000). They have been sponsors of Samut Songkhram - a side that have forged a reputation for walk-offs and staff misconduct - but rumours have been circulating for some time that the group will withdraw support for the midlands side.

The MTU board have both privately and publicly declared a determination to raise the bar in spending ahead of next season's trophy race.
